This is a polishing process, the metal is not chemically treated. The metal itself will be polished to a mirror finish.

Any sealers or waxes are the responsibility of the owner.

Shine On. Meeting the needs of local automotive restoration professionals and hobbyists as a solution to replacing old, difficult to find, and expensive stainless steel moldings and body trim.

Choose between multiple finishing options.
All finishing is done with a 15 micron abrasive to achieve a mirror finish. Starting grits as low as 400 depending on the thickness of the metal and the degree of damage or pitting.

Sample A
Had a very pronounced dent in the face of the molding. After dent removal and polishing, the surface has been brought back to the original mirror finish. No waxes or clear coats have been applied and no trace of the previous dent can be seen.

Sample B
Had a scratch that was deep in the metal and carried across the corner of the trim, as well as an impact on the corner of the trim that compressed the radius of the corner back into itself. After proper dinging, the dents were removed and the piece was polished back to its original shine. No waxes or clear coats have been applied.

All work is done locally. We’ll come to you to pick up pieces and give estimates.
